Description
Pacific slope, Costa Rica, Ca 400 to 800 CE. Nice pair of pottery vessels. First is a handled basket with slightly flared rim, round handle with zoomorphic creatures where the handle meets the "basket", added red pigment. 7" H. Next is a tripod bowl with three scalloped decorative elements, rattle feet each with extended mouths. 5" wide at widest point.
Provenance: Ex - Goodrich collection, Boulder, CO, acquired in the 1960's by a US Biologist studying ticks on the armpits of bats (now that is a field you don't often hear about!).
