Description
BONAPARTE CAROLINE: (1782-1839) Queen Consort of Naples 1808-15, wife of Joachim Murat. Younger sister of Napoleon Bonaparte. L.S., C. de Lipona, three pages, 8vo, Trieste, 4th March 1828 to Baroness de Gayl, in French. Bonaparte refers to an agreement made with General Yermoloff and to a misunderstanding over some previous orders given by her to the administrators of some land, stating ´I was fully ignoring this order which was given before I started negotiations with General Yermoloff; .....The administrator of my land properties Baron of Pfuhl, not knowing about my conversations with General Yermoloff, kept on with the normal activity, and once this matter would have come back to me I would have remembered this ancient order and would have revoked it. I beg the good Gerard to go and see General Yermoloff and to destroy the opinion he may have had of me thinking that I tried to act against our agreements.....I want to be fairly judged, I don´t care about people´s I don´t care opinion, but I do about General Yermoloff´s. All I have been told about General Yermoloff makes me wish that he ends up owning Frohsdorf.....' With integral address leaf in the hand of Bonaparte and bearing a black wax seal (small area of paper loss where originally opened). Some very light, minor age wear, otherwise VG. €190-250
