RUSSELL LORD JOHN: (1792-1878) British Prime Minister 1846-52, 1865-66. A.L.S., J Russell, one page, 8vo, n.p., 18th April 1853, to Sir Howard [Douglas]. Russell thanks his correspondent for a paper which he shall read with interest. With blank integral leaf. Together with a second A.L.S., J Russell, one page, oblong 8vo, Whitehall, 25th June n.y. (1832), to a gentleman. Russell states that he shall be happy to attend 'the Entertainment to be given in the Guildhall of the City of London on occasion of the passing of the Reform Bills'. Some age wear and staining to the first letter (one stain just affecting the signature) and the second letter with slightly neatly clipped corners and various ink annotations in another hand.
