[CHURCHILL WINSTON S.]: (1874-1965) British Prime Minister 1940-45, 1951-55. Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1953. CHURCHILL IVOR (1873-1939) British Politician, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (1915-18) at the time of the Easter Rising. First Cousin of Winston Churchill. Scarce T.L.S., Ivor Churchill, one page, 4to, Kensington, London, 22nd June 1938, to Coombe Tennant, on the printed stationery of The Anglo-French Art and Travel Society. Churchill thanks his correspondent for their kindness on the occasion of the visit of the French to Windsor, remarking 'I hope you were able to extract some enjoyment from the occasion. Personally I found the party very charming'. He further asks if he can meet Tennant to discuss the details of a further visit by the Boys from the School at Pontoise. One small, neat split to the central fold at the left edge, not affecting the text or signature, otherwise VG €125-190
