Description

Pair of Old Paris Porcelain Octagonal Perfume Bottles, mid 19th c., and stoppers, with gilt and floral decoration, H.- 6 1/4 in., W.- 3 1/4 in., D.- 3 1/4 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age and use. Minor losses to paint and gilt throughout. Gilt is especially worn around bottle necks. One stopper is seen with a crack underneath the round top, and the porcelain bottle insert has been replaced with plaster. One bottle is noted with 4 flea-sized chips, with 2 to top corners, and 2 to bottom corners. Other bottle is noted with 1 flea-sized chip to a top corner. A charming set. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS.” NO STATEMENT REGARDING CONDITION OF ANY ITEM, WHETHER IT IS MADE ORALLY AT THE AUCTION OR ANY OTHER TIME, OR IN WRITING IN THE CATALOGUE OR ELSEWHERE, SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR ASSUMPTION OF LIABILITY.
