Hu Yuji (Wo Yue Kee, Henry Wo, b.1927), Born in Dongguan, Guangdong, China, in 1927, studied art in mainland China and Hong Kong and became student of Professor Zhao Shao'ang (Chao Shao'ang) in the late 40's. In 1975, he and his family emigrated from Hong Kong to the suburb of Washington D.C, United States of America, where he was inspired by the beautiful scenery in the neighborhood. He was dedicated to studying the artistic heritage and portrayal of nature while producing paintings with strong personal style. In recent years, he returned to Hong Kong where he kept painting and teaching students the traditional Lingnan style painting as well as a blended style of his own where East and West meet.
