Description
A pair of very fine antique Chinese blue and white porcelain cricket cages. 18th century, either Yongzheng or Qianlong period. Unique form decorated with the 8 Immortals in underglaze blue; orange peel / ju-pi ( (chu-p'i) glaze. Wood lids. Each measuring 6.5" high, 3.5" in diameter. Fitted wood presentation boxes measuring 8.5" x 4-7/8" x 4" deep. NOTE: one with older repair at rim, see photos.
