Description
This uniform was used from 1900 to 1948 in Fribourg by the Gendarmerie. This uniform set contains tunic, trousers, Kepi, Sam Browne styled belt, and bayonet with frog. The tunic has a complete set of buttons with the smoking grenade insignia, an aiguillette, epaulettes, and bullion flaming grenades on the collar. The trousers have a blue stripe along the outside of the leg. The uniform is free from mothing, and in very good condition. The white Sam Browne style belt is complete but the leather is beginning to crackle. The Bayonet is stamped at the ricasso Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, and is an M1878 non-sawback bayonet. Includes frog and scabbard. Serial number 226132. Blade is in original sharpened state, with very light rusting. The Kepi is adorned with bullion bands and a smoking grenade medallion. The Kepi has original sweatband and lining, but there is some damage to the lining and verdigris where the medallion is. Also, the the sweatband is beginning to detach and the hat is a bit out of round. However, as a whole, the uniform is in very good condition. From the World Police Museum in Milan, Italy and is accompanied with COA
