Item Details

Description

Cary, London 6 inch Radius Vernier Sextant, in original box, circa late 1800's. Brass arc engraved with "Cary, London 2439". Black metal construction with Rosewood handle. Swivel magnifier, sighting tubes, mirrors, and shades all included. Index arm is broken off at swivel joint underneath mirror, but can be repaired. Original wooden box with fitted compartments, complete with key and Certificate of Examination from the Kew Observatory in May of 1899. Overall good condition.
