Description
An Egyptian light blue faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, mummiform, wearing tripartite wig and false beard, arms folded across chest, hands holding a pick and hoe, basket over left shoulder and shallow plinth down back. Down the front of the body are neatly rendered hieroglyphic characters in black, contrasting nicely with the light blue. H: 3 ½ in (9cm). Repaired at midsection and a handsome example! Ex Wiltshire, England private collection.
