Item Details
Description
An Etruscan/Roman bronze votive of a priest, c. 3rd - 2nd Century BC, wearing toga, male figuring wrapped in toga, right hand holding an uncertain object, left arm now lost. Cast in the round but flat and rather stylized. H: 3 7/8 in (9.8 cm). Nice dark brown patina and mounted on an antique circular wood base. Ex property from the estate of Georg Krotkoff, who was a professor of Arabic at Johns Hopkins for many years. In the 1930s, he lived in Baghdad and travelled extensively in the Middle East.
