Description
A nice Roman glass cosmetic flask, Eastern Mediterranean, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, in pale blue glass, with bulbous lower body, conical foot, rim folded in and a pair of trailed handles. The uppermost portion of the vessel is wound with threading of the same color, ending just above the base of the handles. H: 5 ½ in (13.9cm). Intact with lovely silvering iridescence and earthen deposits. Cf. Yale, 319 for a similar example; Ex German private antiquities collection.
