Jackson Pollock(American 1912 to 1956) attributed oil on board. One of the American's prolific abstract expressionists artist from his dark period, we offer this 36"(91.44cm) Wide x 23" (58.42cm) Tall painting. Depicting human forms and shadows. Original silver leaf frame. Dedicated on back to "Fred Maxwell" who was the original gallery in San Francisco to distribute Pollock's paintings. Has a receipt of sale attached to the back to Mary Miles Minter; the famous silent screen actress that was involved in numerous scandals as the original purchaser which states purchased from Fred Maxwell August 30, 1953. Fred Maxwell Studios' in San Francisco is well known as being the distributor of Pollock artwork in his early years. This is the only providence that we have on this painting. Painting was purchased ten years ago at private sale from a prominent Palm Beach Estate. Thus for, we are selling this painting as attributed to for lack of provenance.
