5 volumes. Enlarged by George Graves and William Jackson Hooker. 647 hand-coloured engraved plates after S. Edwards, W. Kilburn, J. Sowerby, G. Graves and W.J. Hooker. Plates interleaved with descriptive letterpress. (Folio) 48x29 cm (18¾x11½") period green half morocco and cloth, spines lettered in gilt. Re-issue of the Second Edition.
This edition was published in 1817-1828 and reissued by Bohn with new titles dated 1835. A greatly enlarged edition of the Flora Londinensis (1777-1798), with over 200 new plates added. The first three volumes contain the original 432 plates, but with the text rewritten by Hooker. The final two volumes are entirely new, with plates mostly from drawings by Hooker together with his own descriptions.
