Impressive and important Moche copper mask, representing a Moche dignitary from the, Lambayeque Valley of Northern Peru, ca. 200-500 A.D. Hammered copper sheet, strong almond-shaped eyes, pronounced nose and ears and down-turned mouth. The mouth and teeth’s, showing a dangerous facial expression. Very fine details and beautiful Heavy encrusted verdigris patina and mineral deposits.
