Two photos taken during the seventh Zionist Congress in Basel, 1905. Photographer: Robert Spreng (stamped).
1. Photo portraying the congress participants during Max Nordau's speech. In the background appears the "HaNess HaZioni" flag (a Star of David with seven starts and the emblem of "Gur Aryeh Yehuda"). Photo: 36.5X28 cm, mounted on cardboard: 48.5X35.5 cm.
2. Photo of the other side of the hall portraying the public attending the congress. In the center, hanging from a balcony, is a sign "Shivat Zion Liverpool". Photo: 36.5X27 cm, mounted on cardboard: 48.5X36.5 cm.
Robert Spreng (189-1969), photographer and artist, pioneer of modern photography and one of the first members of the "New Objectivity" movement, owner of a photography studio in the city of Basel.
