VIVIEN LEIGH.Two photographs from Vivien Leigh's family album. England, 1930s.Provenance: gift from Domitila, Vivien Leigh's last maid, to Mrs. Elvira Clara Cirera Bonet. Elvira Clara Cirera Bonet private collection.Measurements: 9 x 6 cm; 8.5 x 6 cm.The presented set of photographs consists of a first snapshot of Vivien Leigh with her daughter Suzanne. Taken in 1934, mother and daughter are seated by a lake, in a tender and endearing attitude typical of the time; the second of the snapshots shows Suzanne in a meadow, smiling, in front of a grove of trees. Suzanne Holman was the only child of Vivien Leigh and her first husband, lawyer Herbert Leigh Holman. Born when her mother was only 19 years old, on the day Suzanne came into the world, October 12, 1933, Leigh Holman wrote in her diary "I had a baby, a girl".
