Liquor Traveling ChestÂ
English, late 18th-early 19th century. A liquor chest in oak with iron fittings, lock and handles. The hinged lid opens to a early wallpaper-lined, compartmentalized interior fitted to hold twelve decanters, each of blown glass with gilt shoulder decoration and original stoppers. Case also features a lift out tray holding two tumblers and two glasses. One decanter features a handwritten label for cherry reserve, Lansing, ca 1869; ht. 11, wd. 16, dp. 11 in.

Condition
Age cracks to lid. General wear to wallpaper. Two large decanters with chipped necks. One replaced small decanter and tumbler. Gilt loss to one small decanter.
