1299. Hero screen-used Ricardo Montalban signature “Khan” tunic, wrist communicator and Starfleet necklace from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. (Paramount, 1982) Ricardo Montalban as “Khan” may be the Star Trek franchise’s most familiar and beloved villain. He makes the jump from the TV series to the big screen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. This is a hero screen-used “Khan” costume consisting of custom-made brown/tan quilted velour open chest tunic retaining the internal Paramount bias label. The tunic is studio-distressed with intentional tears reinforced with stitching. Features a long sleeve on the right side; short sleeve on the left with snap, velcro and hook and eye front closure. The intricate costume is accessorized by Khan’s original integral wrist communicator fashioned of suede, metal, resin and wire components and original necklace of suede, wiring, neck chains and mechanical components with central metal Starfleet insignia. The necklace is charred on the right hand side, which screen-matches with the climactic scene in which “Kahn” arms the “Genesis” device. The tunic also includes a “stunt” shoulder bandolier chest-strap of leather with metal lobster clasps at each end ornamented with colored phone wire and mechanical components integrated as jewelry to complete the display. With expert studio-distressing on all pieces and theatrical blood remnants present on the inside back of the tunic, indicating its use in later scenes after injuries sustained from the U.S.S. Reliant being hit. Obtained from Paramount Studios in the early 1990s and comes with an original wardrobe tag from the Paramount Archives. In screen-used, very good condition. Without question, one of the greatest costumes of the Star Trek franchise.
