One with looped hair within glazed oval surrounded by black onyx with gilt accents, another with later oval opal and the last missing ornament at center. Each with engraved name on back "M. S. Barry", "S.C. Owen" and "E. H. Owen" for Mary Stedman Owen (later Barry), Sophia Cowen Owen, and Eliza Henrietta Owen. According to the consignor, one of these items (engraved M.S. Barry) belonged to the mother of John Decatur Barry--a brigadier general in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War who gave the order to fire on Stonewall Jackson's party as they attempted to ride through Lane's brigade, assuming that they were Union cavalry. According to the consignor, the other two were are from the family of John Owen, a North Carolina politician who served as the 24th Governor of the state from 1828-1830. According to the Owens family tree, Eliza Owen, Sophia Owen and Mary Owen were sisters (James Porterfield Owen was their father, Governor John Owen was their uncle)._x000D_
