Description
Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989), "Purgatory Canto 21", color lithograph print from the artist's work illustrating Dante's "Divine Comedy" depicting to abstracted figures with bent knees, signed lower right margin in purple colored pencil and marked E.A. in pencil. According to Albert Fields, Dali signed 150 sets of prints in color pencil, purple for purgatory images in New York City for F.A.R. Gallery for several days. This lot is likely from that signing and issue. Framed 22.25" x 18.25". Sight size approximately 12" x 9". Literature: Albert Fields, "The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dali", pg 195.

Slight toning to sheet. Minor handling crease in upper left corner. Work resting in corner brackets. Sheet appears to not have been cut down. Print with no signs of fading, colors rich and saturated.
