A lady's midnight blue satin embroidered informal robe - chang-fu, Chinese circa 1920. embroidered in peking-knot and satin stitch with peonies and butterflies, ribbon and black satin edgings Provenance: Countess Granville, nee Lady Rose Bowes-Lyon
Condition
satin edgings are worn generally, some loose couched threads to the butterflies front and back, thinning and splits to upper edges of sleeves along crease lines, rubbing to floss silk embroidery at front waist, ribbon trim on hem needs re-stitching. Centre back seam needs re-stitching 10cm. Back of neck is very split and worn. Fair condition
