Jimmy Stewart Personal Christmas Cards - Perhaps there was no more respected and beloved actor than Jimmy Stewart. Everyone wanted to be his friend. And a Christmas card from him was considered almost as big as an Oscar. It meant you were part of the elite of Hollywood. From Van Johnson’s personal collection, this is a set of the much coveted Jimmy Stewart personal Christmas Cards. There are three in all, and one is still in the original envelope, postmarked December 12, 1994, and is personally addressed to Van Johnson’s wife Evie by Stewart himself. Also included in the set is a signed letter on James Stewart stationary to Evie Johnson, and dated December 9, 1994, from Sharon Margulies, who was James Stewart’s long time personal secretary, thanking Evie for her card and good wishes at a time when Stewart was having heart problems (he passed away three years later). It includes a Letter of Provenience from his daughter, Schuyler Johnson along with a copy of her famous controversial cover story article “My Life As A Hollywood Princess”, about her trials and tribulations growing up in Beverly Hills with a superstar father and extended “family” with some of the most famous celebrities in the world.
