Description
Chinese Porcelain Vase, 19th century or earlier, the bottle-form vase covered with a deep blue cobalt glaze and adorned with a gilt motif of dragons around a flaming pearl surrounded by clouds, the underside unmarked, h. 15". Provenance: The collection of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Kendall, Jr., Houston, Texas.
Condition
An old 1" long light hairline crack at the lip of the vase. A few firing anomalies scattered throughout the interior and underside, including two small (less than 1/2") cracks near the top of the mouth. Some fading to gilt and light soiling at foot. Wear is commensurate with age and display. No chips or visible repairs.
