Description

Brass surveyors transit with silvered dial signed, “L.N. Nutz Maker, Cincinnati, O.” on dial, brass marked, “H. Pfister, 119 W 5 ST Cin. O.” Dial is 6.2” diameter x 14.3” long. Jacob staff with brass mounts is 59” long. Hern Pfister was born in Switzerland and likely made this transit in the 1850-60’s in Cincinnati. L.N. Lutz was likely a surveyor that Hern made the transit for.

Condition

Missing sight bars, else fine.
