Harriet Beecher Stowe Autograph Letter Signed. Tipped onto the front fly leaf of an 1897 edition of Stowe's magnum opus, Uncle Tom's Cabin, the letter consists of one page, 5" x 5.5", Hartford [Connecticut], May 25, 1894. Writing two years before her death, Stowe addresses a "Young Friend" regarding her classic novel: "I am glad to know that the reading of Uncle Tom's Cabin has given you so much pleasure." She ends her letter with a discussion on kittens. Adhesive ghosting from the verso has not affected the text of the letter, which remains bright.

This book itself is toned lightly throughout. Upper edges of the boards, which show light shelfwear, are bumped. Upper edge of pages 37 through 84 show minor damage.
