Pair of Art Nouveau wall plates with boy and girl in profile in the style of ‘Tete byzantine’ by Alfons Mucha

This pair of wall plates made of silver plated copper was created around 1900 by the Amsterdam jewelry maker Johannes Blinxma. The rims are decorated with surrounding sweet chestnut relief. The mirrors show mutually facing profile heads of a young men and a woman, inspired by the ‘Tete byzantine’ by Alfons Mucha.



Both plates bear an emu mark. The pair of wall plates is in good condition with only minor signs of age and wear. The silver plating on the young man’s plate partially minimally worn. Diameter: 43.5 cm each.
