RARE AND ELEGANT CIRCA 1840’S GERMAN PORCELAIN LADY. 22”. Hand-pressed porcelain with slight pink tint, cameo shaped face with distinctive sculpting, smooth black hair flared and drawn away at the sides over the ears into a coiled bun in back, painted features, shaded blue eyes, red and black eyeliner, tapered brows, closed mouth, stitch-jointed body with sewn-on brown leather boots, porcelain arms, wears beaded black silk gown. Commentary: Rare early model with aristocratic presence, very fine quality porcelain and sculpting, replaced cloth body with antique porcelain arms, old faint hairline at right edge of shoulderplate; inherent tiny mold specks on left side of neck.
