Description
A 19TH CENTURY CHINESE PORCELAIN VASE. In the style of the Kangxi Dynasty. Underside bears four applied character marks 14" x 10"
Condition
This piece has a medium amount of grime build up, more significant to the neck and base. There are about eleven .5" - 2" grazed chips about .5" thick along the bottom edge of the base, exposing porcelain surface below. There is significant adhesive build up to the upper lip of the vase, it appears that a lid might have been glued on at some point. There is some light adhesive residue on the body (stray adhesive from the top). There is no lid included. There are a few .5" diameter unintentional paint spots on the body of the piece (splatters?). On the inner section of the vase there is a 2" raised inclusion in the clay that has been glaze over, from the maker. Under black light, the grime and stray paint/adhesive spots are visible (no over painting). Unclear if there are chips to the lip, the edge is not visible beneath the adhesive. There is some streaking adhesive to the inside as well.
