Description
18TH CENTURY CHINESE EXPORT CUP AND SAUCER. Both bearing the coat of arms for the Van Hatten family Cup: 2" x 3.5" Saucer: 5.5"
Condition
These piece have very little grime build up. Both saucer and bowl have several pen tip - .2" diameter grazed surface ships scattering the edges. The saucers has a .5" diameter grazed chip with surface loss to the inner edge. The saucer also has a .5" x 1" area of shard on the edge that has been broken off and been re-glued. There are a few 1" - 3" very faint hair line cracks running off the edge of the saucer. The bowl has a .5" hairline crack running off the rim. The gilt that was lining the rim of both of these pieces is basically all worn off. There are a few minor pitting spots in the glaze to the back of the saucer. These were not inspected under backlight.
