The George III silver and glass cruet stand from 1791 was manufactured by Charles Chesterman in London and delights with its elegant classical shape. The set consists of a cradle, two decanters, two shakers, a mustard pot and two bottles with cut stoppers. The cradle features a pierced ship form on four feet and shows an encircling festoons décor with vacant cartouches. The base is made ??of mahogany. With their cut crystal glass and delicate silver mounts, the decorative condiments are a stylish eye-catcher on the table.



All pieces are hallmarked with the maker's mark of Charles Chesterman, the London city mark, the date letter q (1791), the sterling standard mark and the George III duty mark. The set is in good condition with light wear. The edge of one shaker shows a nick. The wooden base of the cradle is a bit stained. The spoon in the mustard pot seems to be replaced. The dimensions of the cradle are 25.5 x 19 x 13 cm, and the single pieces are between 14 and 17.5 cm in height. The weight of the cradle is approximately 360 grams. Total weight c. 1,75 kg
