Description
This unusually large, American Arts and Crafts " Samara Ware" pottery charger was made and signed by Henry James Albright of Albany, New York. A central figure in the New York state Arts and Crafts movement, Albright was a painter, potter, and active teacher in the Albany , New York area. A close friend of Gustav Stickley, Albright lived in a Craftsman house at the top of Corning Hill. Albright's wares were retailed in New York City and appeared in the Georg Jensen catalog as Samara Ware. 17 3/4 inches in diameter ( 45.2 cm )
Condition
Very good condition, normal crazing and small cracks, typical of the wares.
