Description
After Thomas Whitcombe, depicting the capture in October 1807 of the French privateer Jeune Richard , later renamed by the English La Genii , the name given in this revised state Aquatint with hand-colouring 1808, John Harris 405 x 540mm. (16 x 21 1/4 in) Unframed The French vessel initially attacked the English postal packet, but Captain William Rogers and only 5 crew bravely boarded Jeune Richard and forced a surrender, towing her back to Barbados to become part of the English fleet.
