Ye Qianyu (1907-1995)
Ye Qianyu was a Chinese artist, pioneer of the Manhu Art and head of the Chinese painting department of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1928 he became a co-founder of the Shanghai Manhua, one of the earliest and influential manhua magazines. Manhua means literally translated ‘improvised sketch’ and is a Chinese comic, known in Japan as manga. The manhua were first created in the early 19th century.
Condition: The works are in good condition with slight signs of age and wear. The edges are toned and partly loss of material and small tears are visible there. Each sheet has a dimension of 27.5 x 19.5 cm.
