Description
(Peter, editor ) Archigram Eight: Milanogram , "Popular Pak Issue", first edition , folded sheets, illustrations, loose as issued in original yellow envelope printed in blue, a little soiled, oblong 8vo, 1968. Archigram was an avant-garde architectural group formed in the early 1960s by a group of young British architects, namely Peter Cook, Warren Chalk, Ron Herron, Dennis Crompton, Michael Webb and David Greene. It was inspired by technology and was pro-consumerism, celebrating the city as a living organism. All issues are scarce. This issue concerned the design of Archigram's exhibit at the 14th Triennale in Milan. "It is conceived somewhat in the way of a magazine issue of Archigram: a synthesis of inventions, projects, theories, comment and designs wrapped together…Several themes crop up in the exhibition that recurrently interest the Archigram group…all to do with the personal choice that one can have over one's enivronment and the ways in which new combinations of parts can catalyse that choice…".
