PAIR OF UNUSUAL BEIDERMEIER HALL PEDESTALS - Pale Mahogany, circa 1815, German, having oval lids with carved gilt edges, both lids lift off for access to cage baskets beneath, one cage has a hinged front door with original wooden latch, gilt bead trim at lower throat with flared foot, set on bifurcated column having down turned flanges with gilt ivy leaf terminus, the center of the column pierced, the lower feet in the form of gilt duck's heads. Set on concave side, convex end platform with large ball feet. 36" tall, 15 1/2" wide at flanges, 15" x 10 1/2" top. Good condition.
