GENT'S DRESSING STAND - English Sheraton Period "Beau Brummel" Stand, after the notorious dandy of the same name (1778-1840), in mahogany with bird's-eye inlay, the typical double hinged top having oval patera, concealing a lift-up adjustable easel mirror, open compartments, the case having one faux drawer over one functioning drawer, with bird's-eye faces, cockbeaded edges and brass ring pulls, set on tapering turned legs with finely carved leaves at top, ending in original brass ferrules and casters. First quarter of 19th c. 32" tall, 24" x 19 1/4" when closed. Very good condition, losses to silvering on mirror.
