Item Details
Description
GABRIEL ARGY-ROUSSEAU LAMP - Rare French Art Glass 'Prarie' Veilleuse or Night Light with Scent Infuser, signed and marked 'France', circa 1935, on the original footed metal base, with frosted glass scent receptacle mounted above the bulb, small hole in top of glass for venting. Magenta colored when lit. 7 1/2" tall. Art glass and base are in fine condition, scent cup has edge losses. Argy-Rousseau (1885-1953), created the Pate-de-Verre technique evident in this piece, but was a poor businessman, and although other more successful art glass makers utilized this technique, his lamps are scarce.
