British/American Brass Barrel Flintlock Pistol. 8", .60 cal. octagon-to-round brass barrel with 2 private proofs and marked "ROYAL EXCHANGE, LONDON". Brass Lock signed "BENNETT" (original flint). Brass furniture, trigger guard with classic colonial “acorn” finial, “Kentucky” style brass fore-end cap, long eared butt cap(ears reduced during restocking). Stock has a chip missing below the lower edge of the lock mortise and an age crack just forward of the lock area, otherwise, solid with normal age scratches and dings from years of handling. 14.25" overall length. In good mechanical working order. Note; It is our opinion that this pistol was restocked in colonial America during the period of use, circa. 1770's - 1820.
