Description
Newcomb low vase with carved and painted jonquils done in 1924 by Henrietta Bailey. The flowers in a band encircle the shoulder in shades of green, blue and yellow. Marks include the Newcomb logo, the date code for 1924 (OE 71), shape number 65, impressed JM for potter, Joseph Meyer, and the incised monogram of the artist. Height is 4 1/2 inches and width is 7 inches. Uncrazed and very nice. Pictured in Forster, “Alternative American Ceramics 1870 - 1955 on page 149.
