Description
Newcomb College vase with wisteria cascading down from the rim, the work of Henrietta Bailey in 1918. The flowers have a faint rose blush to the blue, yellow and green shades. Marks include the Newcomb logo, the date code for 1918 (JX 54), shape number 209, JM for potter Joseph Meyer and the incised monogram of Ms. Bailey. Height 7 1/4 inches. Surprisingly, there are few mat glaze pieces of Newcomb with wisteria decoration.
