Good English sterling presentation chalice. Featured in repoussé are two different Renaissance Royal couples standing arm and arm on the front and back. In between are knights helmets above shields of armor bound by flowers and scrolls. Measures 6 5/8 inches by 4 1/2 inches across. Impressed marks include the left facing walking lion passant, the 3 sheaves & sword assay logo for the town of Chester, a scroll capital “A” date letter for 1901 and the “F” impression for foreign import. Also impressed are a Crown above a fleur-de-lis symbol flanked by the initials “BM” and “n”. The cupped base has a chased dental design and beneath is an unusual saw-tooth ring just inside the rim. Weight 11.57 troy ounces. Excellent original condition.
