Description
Discovered in the north east corner of New Mexico by a farmer plowing his field in the early 20th century. After that displayed in a local western history museum In Pueblo Colorado. First seen there by the consigner in 1958. The museum closed in 1978 and out consigner was able to obtain these pieces at that time. They have been in possession until now. Incomplete suit. Consists of lower leggings or greaves, one left has front and back the other just front. Also has one upper leg or cuisse. Both arms with vambrace couter and rebrace. Undoubtedly from an unknown and unremarked Spanish Colonial trooper. Shows age and rust appropriate to pieces.
