Description
North America, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Spanish Colonial period, ca. 17th to 18th century CE. A fine copper pitcher that is cast into a squat globular shape with a stable flat base and a broad opening with a thin rim. A tubular iron handle is applied with two rivets to the neck, gracefully arching downward before meeting the shoulder. This vessel was utilitarian and heavily used- evident by the old repairs throughout- note the rivets and added patches of copper to the sides of the body! Size: 5" Diameter x 4.5" H (12.7 cm x 11.4 cm)

Condition
Old repairs with rivets to exterior as shown. Losses and perforation to the base and neck. Handle is slightly loose. Heavy signs of age and use throughout and dark patina.
