The ring belongs to the jewelry collection by Paloma Picasso and can be dated around 1985. The petite ring band grows over the annular shoulder in a solid 18-carat gold head, which is wearing an amethyst in diamond-shaped cabochon cut. The violet color glows subtly in the light and enchants at the same time the owner and the observer.
The ring is hallmarked in the ring band with ‘750’ and stamped with ‘Paloma Picasso’. The ring is in good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. The ring size is 53 (US: 6.4) and the weight is about 19 ??grams.444
Paloma Picasso (born 1949)
Paloma Picasso was born in Paris as the daughter of Pablo Picasso and Françoise Gilot and she is a true artist. She started making jewelry as a teen. She is famous for her boldly style, which is characterized in the colored gems. Early on she equipped avant-garde theater productions and designed fashion jewelry for the legendary couturier Yves Saint Laurent. 1979 Paloma Picasso was invited by Tiffany design director John Loring, to make a table for one of Tiffany's exhibitions. A year later she became the first exclusive jewelry collection designer at Tiffany’s. Shortly thereafter, jewelry, sunglasses, perfumes, crockery, linen, cutlery, and various textiles and cosmetics were sold under her own brand.
