Description
It’s amazing how many classic movies are being remade these days. Some with great success, other, well, it may have been best to leave a good thing alone. One of the remakes that still rocked, and terrified was the remake of “The Amityville Horror” in 2004. This story had been told before (with a few TV Sequels, and a video came to boot), supposedly based on a true story of a family that moved into a house, not knowing that a grisly murder once took place there. Needless to say, the vibes are not great, and the next month becomes a living (and not so living) hell. The original 1979 version got the first class treatment, having been directed by Stuart Rosenberg (“Cool Hand Luke” 1967, “Pope of Greenwich Village” 1984), and starred James Brolin and Margot Kidder (“Superman” 1978) as the husband and wife, (George and Kathy Lutz). This time around the Lutz’s are played by Ryan Reynolds (“Ted” 2012, “Green Lantern” 2011, “X-Men Origins” 2009), and Melissa George (“Alias” 2001, Gray’s Anatomy” 1996). Cast and Crew jackets are great collectables, but even more valuable is what is called a “Press Jacket”, which are jackets made specifically for the press on various junkets before the film is release. These junkets are not as popular now, nor is the massive money that used to be poured into them (just check out Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Billy Crystal and John Cusack in 2001’s “America’s Sweethearts” to understand just how elaborate these junkets used to be!) This mint condition gray cotton-polyester blend jacket has “Lutz Construction – Amityville, NY) embroidered in red, “logo-style” in the front (Lutz Construction being the company owned by father George Lutz in the story), and in the back is a nice subtle light gray embroidery: “The Amityville Horror – 2004”. The jacket has two extra deep side pockets, and an extra thick front zipper. (Medium)
