Saint Émilion is next to Pomerol one of the best-known appellations on the right river bank of the Gironde. Merlot is the predominant grape variety here. As in Graves, Saint Émilion has its own classification for the wines produced there, updated approximately every ten years; the last time being in 2012.

1982 was a very special vintage in Bordeaux. It is one of those truly great vintages, like 1945 and 1961, which will be talked about for decades to come. American wine critic Robert Parker made a name for himself when he described this vintage as outstanding, contradicting the opinion of many other wine critics. Time proved him right and sealed his reputation as the most influential wine critic in the world. 1986 was also a very good vintage in Bordeaux with tannin-rich wines that develop wonderfully over many years.

The 1982 vintage Pavie was rated 88 points by Robert Parker in 2009. James Suckling gave it the same score in 1998. René Gabriel rated the wine 17 out of 20 points in 2012.

The 1986 vintage Canon was rated 89 points by Robert Parker in 1998.

The 1986 vintage Le Tertre Roteboeuf was rated 89 points by Robert Parker in 2003. It was given a score of 90 points in a 1989 issue of Wine Spectator.

The fill levels are excellent (1x top shoulder, 1x base of neck, 1x into neck). The labels are slightly soiled; the capsules are in perfect condition.
