This lot comprises one bottle of 1957 vintage Château Palmer from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux.
Margaux is located in Médoc and one of the finest appellations in France. Ernest Hemingway was so fond of Margaux wine that he named his daughter after it. The most widely used grape variety is Cabernet Sauvignon, which is always blended with other varieties like Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The wines are long-lasting and should only be savored after several years of proper storage.
The 1957 vintage Palmer was rated 94 points by Robert Parker in 2002. James Suckling gave it a score of 93 points for Wine Spectator in 2010. René Gabriel last rated the wine 20 out of 20 points in 2014.
The fill level is excellent (upper shoulder). The label is soiled; the capsule is in perfect condition.
