The present lithograph is a work by Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) from 1973 and was published in an edition of 500 signed copies. The present sheet is the number 492. With ‘Monument à Picasso’, a draft for a monument to Picasso, Dalí honored his Spanish contemporary and fellow pioneer of Modernism, Pablo Picasso. On the left hand side of the abstract composition, a female figure reaches up to hand a laurel wreath to the artist seated above, who is equipped with a paintbrush and a color palette.
The lithograph is signed in pencil lower right and numbered in pencil with ‘492/500’ lower left. The lithograph is in good condition, showing a typical light discoloration of the paper. The frame is slightly chipped. The image dimensions are 65 x 46 cm, the sheet dimensions are 76.3 x 56.5 cm, and the frame is 86 x 66.5 cm in size.

His dream-like works, influenced by the unconscious, are part of important international museum collections. Salvador Dali is regarded as one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
