Inscription from a mother to her son on rear of frontispiece. First edition of this, the first sequel, to the very popular "Butterfly's Ball", published earlier the same year. The pair of titles ushered out the era of the dominance of the moral tale in children's literature. The two titles combined sold more that 40,000 copies in their first year and remained in print for many years following. Gumuchian 2241-3.
